On the Exam Day
There are strict guidelines to uphold the integrity of the exam. Here are some important details that will be checked:
ID Check
You will be asked to show a photo identity document before starting the exam. Make sure to cover any sensitive personal information, such as your social service number or date of birth, during the ID check. The system only needs to see your name and photograph.
The exam will begin only after you have granted Proctorio permission and completed the ID check.
Record and Review
You must be alone throughout the exam.
You are not allowed to wear a watch or have any books (including your own notebooks), reference material, mobile phones, etc., with you.
The exam is recorded and reviewed later by RIPE NCC staff to ensure exam rules have been followed. Read more about exam terms and conditions here.
System Check
The exam takes place within the secure browser, which blocks access not only to other websites but also to other programmes on your computer. You will need to save and close any open files or tabs. Please be prepared to give the exam your undivided attention.
It is possible to access the exam platform anytime before launching your exam. Before launching your exam, download the secure browser and test your system compatibility.
When the exam begins, Proctorio will ask for permission to access your camera and microphone and share your screen.
The exam is accessible once you complete the registration process. As soon as you launch the exam, you will have exactly 60 minutes to complete it (except for the LIR Fundamentals exam, that will be 35 minutes).
Use your RIPE Access credentials to log into the Better Examinations exam platform and start your exam using the link on your BE dashboard.
