What you will learn

The RIPE Database training course is a one-day course. We'll make you a capable user of the RIPE Database.

Mixing hands-on activities with theory, the course participants will get a comprehensive idea of what the RIPE Database is and what they can do with it.

You will also learn to:

  • Query and update the RIPE Database
  • Enable LIRs to carry out their registration tasks
  • Understand the RIPE Database’s role in the Internet Routing Registry and setting up reverse delegation
  • Evaluate the use of additional tools to get the most out of the RIPE Database

Who is this course for?

You should attend this training course if you are part of the staff of a Local Internet Registry (LIR) in the RIPE NCC service region, and need to register networks in the RIPE Database.

This course does not cover:

  • The basics of routing, or any technical routing topics
  • How to request IP addresses from the RIPE NCC
  • How to operate a Local Internet Registry (LIR)

  • Understand the role of different RIPE Database objects and their attributes
  • Query the RIPE Database in different ways to retrieve specific information
  • Create and edit objects in the RIPE Database
