Local Internet Registry Fundamentals

Join us for a one-day course explaining a Local Internet Registry (LIR)'s responsibilities and RIPE policies.

You will learn everything about the basics of obtaining and distributing Internet resources, including IP addresses, AS Numbers, and reverse DNS delegation. You will also get an introduction to the RIPE Database.

The Local Internet Registry Fundamentals is a one-day introduction to the RIPE NCC's administrative procedures and RIPE Policies related to obtaining and distributing Internet resources (i.e. IP addresses, AS Numbers and reverse DNS delegation) and operating a Local Internet Registry (LIR).

You should attend this training course if you are a staff member of a Local Internet Registry (LIR) in the RIPE NCC service region.

  • Identify the appropriate security solutions and implement them

Pre-Requisites

  • Familiarity with the Internet Registry System (IANA, RIRs, LIRs), the RIPE Database, the RIPE NCC and the RIPE community.
  • Basic understanding of IP addresses and subnetting.
