Requirements to earn the IPv6 Security Badge

The IPv6 Security badge can be earned by completing the IPv6 Security Exam. The exam takes place online. You will be asked to answer 50 questions during the exam. To pass the exam, you must score a minimum of 70%.

Instructions on how and where to log in to start the exam are emailed upon registration.

Recommended Knowledge

IPv4 and IPv6 networking knowledge (IPv6 at the level of the IPv6 Fundamentals certification)
Knowledge about the most common IP network security concepts
Proficiency with details of IPv6 and associated protocols like ICMPv6, NDP, MLD and DHCPv6
Ability to describe common IPv6 security threats and available mitigation techniques
Familiarity with IP traffic filtering concepts
General knowledge about existing routing protocols, and more specifically about BGP
Experience with security assessment tools
Experience with information security search from common public sources
